I know it’s been a very long time! Not sure if there will be anybody reading this… but my friends have asked me to post my cards again, so I’ll try to be a little bit more consistent! My busy life gets in the way of my blogging!
OK Today’s card! I am taking another Online class. This is a short one (only 3 days) and the topic is Watercoloring Mediums. I just joined the class midway. I really enjoy it so far… I’ve done a lot of watercoloring in my card history, but there is always something new to learn. I always recommend the OnLine card classes. They are very well put together and there are a lot of videos.
The first day was about using markers for watercoloring. For this card, I used Tim Holtz Distress markers. I really like Distress markers for this technique because they “melt” very nicely with water, without leaving too many lines. Here is the card:
Details:
Card size: 5 ½ x 6 ½”
Stamp set: Winter Robins from Bonnidée. My friend Bonnie, the owner of Bonnidée, has released many new stamp sets. I love the robbins and I thought that they would be perfect for the watercolour technique with markers. The snowflakes and the greeting are from the same set and were embossed with Egyptian Gold Embossing Powder.
I used Versamark ink to stamp the snowflake and greeting and Jet Black Archival Black Ink for the image.
And as mentioned, I used Tim Holtz Distress markers to colour the image.
The holly leaves were cut from 2 sets by Memory Box. The left side is part of the candle and holly die: Memory Box Glowing candles #98661 and the branch to the right is Memory Box Holly Vine #98188.
The 3 little red gems are from Kayser crafts.
The image was cut with a Spellbinder Oval die and framed with a Spellbinders Scalloped Oval die.
I used Canson Cold Press Watercolour paper.
And last but not least, something very exciting for me!!! See the greeting on the card? (Rejoice…). Well, it’s a stamp of my handwriting!!! How cool is that? Bonnie added some of my handwritten greetings to each one of her new stamp sets. I love it!!!
OK that’s it for now! Hopefully, I’ll be able to post a little more often… Stay tuned.
