OnLine Card Class – Clean and Simple 3 Homework

The Clean and Simple 3 Online Class is over, but there is still time to do my homeworks and post the result.

On Day 10, Textural effects, Joy Taylor demonstrated how to use a stencil to partly cover the card and add some embellishments around and a greeting. She used sequins, but I used gems.

Here is my card:

The make my stencil, I diecut a white cardstock with a Memory Box die. I glued the negative part of the image (what’s left when you take the diecut out of the cardstock) on my white cardstock and applied modeling paste that I had mixed with Salty Ocean distress ink (i rubbed the ink on my mat and added the modeling paste to that and mixed well with my spatula). It took overnight to dry and is not a very clean stenciling result, but I was happy enough with it….

I wanted it to be a one layer card, so I backed the stenciled cardstock and the Hero Arts border on the blue on a thin cardstock.

To make my greeting, (greeting by Penny Black) I diecut the oval completely through the card, put a piece of packing tape behind and resinserted the same oval cut out of blue cardstock on which I had stamped the greeting. So now, it is still a one layer card (even if the photo makes it look like it’s embossed).

The turquoise and blue embellishments “pearls” are from Recollections found at Michaels.

Hopefully I’ll have time to do more homeworks and share with you on this blog.

Thanks for visiting my blog.
