Happy 65th Birthday Jim!

Today is my husband Jim’s 65th birthday!  We celebrated with the whole family by going to his favorite restaurant, Porto Vino.

Here he is with his birthday cake:

Here is the card I made for him.  Jim owns a very pretty Miata (a little sports card).  We spend a lot of time each summer driving around with other Miatas (and their owners…).  Jim has always been a car enthousiaste, so when I planned his birthday card, I thought it should have cars on it.  The old jalopy was used for a joke, because although he is 65, my husband is still very young at heart in all aspects of his life…   Anyway, here is the card:

The front of the card:

Supplies:

Sizzix die (Tim Holtz) Old Jalopy

Patterned paper:  Die cut with a view (DCWV) old fairytale collection

Stampin’Up silver metal label and pearl colour brads for lights (discountinued)

Numbers:  Memory Box Classic numbers

Silver and pearl grey cardstock (Stardream) and kraft cardstock (SU).

Greeting:  Stampin’Up – Discontinued Hostess set “Happiest Birthday Wishes” #122617

I distressed the edges of the paper and the windows with an ink applicator and Distress ink (I think it was Burlap…).

I also inked the edges of the card in silver with a metallic marker.
