Another homework for the Online Class Clean and Simple 3

This was for Day 9 – Textural Effects.

I am trying out a technique shown by Debbi Hughes. She has a beautiful butterfly on her card and used a little heart stencil with embossing paste.
I don’t have a butterfly stamp with me or my Copic markers, nor a small compenents stencil (Don’t tell anyone but I’m on holidays in Florida… :). I brought a lot of supplies with me, but I’m still missing quite a bit to do everything I want).

I used a Memory Box die. Debbi embossed her image, but because I couldn’t do that, I used the thin outline of the flower die to act as my white embossed outline. I glued another piece of cardstock behind the outline to colour the image. I only have the skin colour copics with me, browns and red, so that’s what I used to colour my image in a similar way that Debbi did with her butterfly. I used some watercolour and a paintbrush to flick colour around my image and a Gold wink of Stella that I also flicked to have gold dots.

For the Hearts I diecut a Simon Says Stamp Heart diecut and used the cutout as my stencil. I made sure to tape everything well so that it wouldn’t move on me like the last time I tried stenciliing with a cutout. I used textured paste to which I added a little bit of white reinker.

The greeting is from a JustRite Clear set called Celebration CR-04460. It was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

I also added some clear Wink of Stella to the flower.

I was quite happy with the results and Jim (my husband) told me that it is his favorite of all the cards I made so far this trip…..

So oops forgot to show the card, here it is:
